We’re thrilled to announce a major pricing upgrade: PayVert mobile money transfer fees are now capped at just GHS20 per transaction! That’s only 1%, no matter how much you send, ensuring you never pay more than that cap again.
A POLICY SHIFT THAT BENEFITS EVERYONE
This move comes in response to a landmark change in national policy. On April 2, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama formally repealed the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy), betting tax, and emissions levy. The repeal took effect immediately, fulfilling a key campaign promise and removing the 1% fee on electronic transactions, including mobile money transfers and bank payments.
Surveys showed that 79% of Ghanaians were opposed to the E-levy, citing its unfair burden on everyday citizens and small businesses, the repeal aligns with strong public sentiment.
WHAT THIS MESNS FOR GHANA’S MOBILE MONEY LANDSCAPE
Since the repeal, mobile money activity has surged dramatically. In April 2025 alone, transaction values soared to a record GHS365 billion, highlighting growing adoption and restored user confidence.
